TGN would like to officially announce we have been working on a 2-speed transmission for the hpi baja 5b. Our working prototype has been used and abused now for several months. Including a grueling test run out at Hungry Valley for a photo and film shoot done by the guys over at RC Car Action Magazine. You can see a photo of the car and 3 other baja’s in the August issue of RC Car Action. Soon you will be able to watch a demo video at http://www.rccaraction.com shot with several of our “shop†cars including the 2-speed baja.
Currently we are testing and working out different issues as well as experimenting on different gear ratios. With all the power that is being made these days including the 7hp monster from Trevor Simpson we feel there will be a need for this 2 speed but we want it to be correct, very strong and reliable. With that being said, we do not expect to have the 2-speed ready any time soon.
